Sweetwater School District Names New Assistant Superintendent of Business Services


Moises Aguirre to join Sweetwater Team

At the recent April 27, 2015 meeting, the Sweetwater Union High School District Board of Trustees selected Mr. Moises Aguirre to be the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services.

This is a new position that was created by the board to manage all business related activities in the district including planning and construction, maintenance, transportation, nutrition services, and real estate and property management. The Assistant Superintendent of Business Services will report directly to the Superintendent.

Mr. Aguirre joins Sweetwater from the San Diego Unified School District where he has spent the last several years. Most recently, he served as the Executive Director of District Relations where he oversaw the Office of Charter Schools, Office of Race, Human Relations, and Advocacy, Office of Translations, Office of Parent Engagement, and Office of Research and Development.

Mr. Aguirre indicated that, “it is an honor to be entrusted with this responsibility. I look forward to collaborating with the diverse communities and stakeholders served by the Sweetwater Union High School District in order to continue to build on the positive impact that our schools have day-to-day.”

Previously, Aguirre served in the Government and Community Relations Office for the Office of the Chancellor at the University of California, San Diego. He has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California, San Diego, a Master’s in Public Administration from San Diego State University, and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Education Leadership from San Diego State University.
