The ongoing federal government shutdown may be creating uncertainty and hardship for many federal employees. SNAP, EBT, and CalFresh benefits for November and future months could be delayed, potentially affecting families in our community. We want to ensure that you have access to accurate information and know where to find available support and resources.

The Sweetwater Union High School District is actively exploring additional ways to assist families during this time. This page is dedicated to sharing up-to-date information on food resources, medical and mental health supports, and other services as the government shutdown continues to impact our communities.

Families can call 2-1-1 or go online and get connected with local food pantries, meal programs, and many other essential services. Support is available in more than 200 languages. This is the place to start for families in need or looking for information during the federal government shutdown. 

San Diego Food Bank

San Diego Food Bank has a searchable database online to make it easy to find a food distribution near you. Included in the map are more than 30 Neighborhood Distribution Program sites, which distribute food to thousands of individuals and families once a month through drive-thru or walk-up service.
