Heat Advisory

An ” Excessive Heat Advisory” is in effect until Monday, September 9, at 8pm for
San Diego County. Please monitor your campus and encourage students to wear light
clothing, drink plenty of fluids, and wear sunscreen as needed. Strenuous student
activities (e.g., athletics, P.E., drill team, marching band, cheerleading, JROTC, etc.)
should continue to be closely monitored by teachers, coaches, and other certificated
personnel assigned to supervise such activities. Plenty of water breaks should be
provided. Athletes engaging in competitive sports must be observed/monitored and
precautions taken to ensure student safety.

Please refer to the SUHSD flag advisory levels for further information for all
students, and the new SD-CIF Extreme Heat and Acclimatization information. WetBulb
Globe Temperatures should be taken daily prior to practices and competitions. We will
continue monitoring our region’s forecast and provide updates as appropriate.

If you have away athletic competitions with out of conference opponents, please
communicate with them to determine conditions at game sites.
