Information Technology Remote Learning Resources Available to Staff

  • Communication tools available to communicate
    • Google Suite which is where student email resides, communication to students via email will be handled through the unsername@sweetwaterschools.net email accounts all students have.
    • Sweetwater UHSD Exchange email is for staff use, (Outlook and Outlook Webmail). This is staffs main resource for email services.  Email can be sent to students, parents and any other internal or external email recipients.
  • Online Collaboration Platforms for Distance Learning
    • Microsoft Teams which can be integrated with other resources such as Google Drive and Canvas
    • Google Classroom
  • SUHSD learning resources that provide information and help answer questions for staff regarding distance learning with Microsoft Teams, Google meet and Classroom.

  • Storage Platforms available online
    • G-Suite YouTube
      • Video library (Channel) for teacher video uploads
        • There is a 15-minute default for videos but can be extended after Google Verification
      • OneDrive for staff and students, available in the O365 apps, provides unlimited storage.
        • Upload file size limit is 20GB via desktop app and 100GB via web browser to OneDrive
      • SharePoint Online for Staff (Students do not have access to SharePoint at this time)
        • Max file size using SharePoint is 15GB
        • Syncing with OneDrive is available
      • Google Drive for staff and students (unlimited storage- Gmail-Drive and Photos)
        • If you use the Google apps you maximize your storage
          • Documents- If you convert text documents to Google Docs format the file can be up to 50MB
          • Spreadsheets- Up to 5 million cells for spreadsheets created in or converted to Google Sheets
          • Presentations- Up to 100MB for presentation created in or converted to Google Slides
          • Google Sites (New)- Up to 200,000 characters per page, 10,000 images per site and up to 1000 pages with a maximum of 10 million characters
        • OnPrem storage meaning file shares provided from District Server resources
          • Available via VPN limited to staff only.
