Newly Approved Attendance Boundaries

Meeting Details:

Although enrollment in our district is about the same as it was 10 years ago, the demographics of our region have changed and attendance boundaries have not been changed during that 10-year time frame.

Based on discussion at our Long Range Facility Master Plan meetings last fall, the Board of trustees will consider changes that will relieve overcrowding at some of our eastern schools, eliminate “optional” boundary areas, make middle and high school attendance areas match and prepare for new growth in the eastern Chula Vista and San Ysidro/Otay Mesa Areas.

These potential changes will only affect incoming 7th and 9th grade students. Current students in all other grades will be able to remain at their current school.

At this meeting, the board will be hearing information from staff about the proposal and will not be voting on the matter or making any final decisions.

Thank you for your continued support in Putting Students First!
